PostSubject: Yankee's XLI to Ginza upgrade! *CLOSED*   Thu Jan 17, 2013 3:00 am

Here she is, my 1996 Corolla 1.3 XLI.

Ive done a few things already, like removing the "XLI" and "TOYOTA" lettering, fitted new cheap front speakers, fitted a small 8" sub in the back (it kicks really well for its size), fitted a 2-DIN player and fitted my 7Jx16 wheels today (02.04.2013) (to be continued below photo)

I guess the general layout of my plan is something like this.

Get wider tires - Check
Upgrade the suspension -
Upgrade the brakes -
Fix bodyparts -
Do an engineswap - (1.3 to 1.6 16V)
Respray in stock color?
Enjoy it! Very Happy

Things will be added to this list as soon as I find more things I want to do with it.

Things done already:

fitted white LED numberplate lights
Fitted white LED interior light
Fitted orange/amber corner lights

Thank you, I'm uploading a few more pics now, I dont like the fast and furious type bodykits, I like the ones that look as stock as possible

My car is nowhere near as shiny irl as she is on these pics, I had just washed her just before I took a few shots.

It's nice to meet a fellow countryman here, my plans are first of all to fix all the damage (theres alot), then to polish it and upgrade the stereo, then testfit the 14" and 16" wheels I have in storage to see which I like better, lower it and maybe get the booster or a Megane frontlip.

Where in Norway are you from?

Im from Ålesund Smile
I had a Megane front lip on my wagon, cut it abit too short.. so it looked very strange, was to far under the car. Smile
Try to find a Renault Scenic front lip. looks the same, only its abit bigger ("Lowers" more)

My wagon with a Megane lip.

That can be arranged, I usually travel up in july/august/october Wink and I understood what Renault you ment, I've had 2 of my own and the Corolla is my 19th car in 10 years..
