| Hi everyone,
Just got back home from a drive and I noticed something frankly worrying.
I've been driving economically on biodiesel recently. Going great, managing 49 MPG no problem.
Today I decided to drive more vigorously than usual, as its been a while and I miss the roar of the diesel engine.
Problem. The moment I floor it it accelerates a lot slower than it used to, but makes a lot of noise. Also, the torque seems to cut out a lot sooner. I have no idea what it could be, it was working fine this morning!
Don't know if I should be super worried or not, I can't afford expensive engine repairs.
Has anyone experienced any similar issues?
Thanks | |

| it could be the bio diesel that you are using, when was the last time you serviced it?

| I had the injectors cleaned and the oil filter changed recently, and the mechanic said it was working fine.
I have used biodiesel before this, and it has never happened before. The diesel filter isn't more than a year old definitely.
....could it be the diesel filter clogged up? Cause I remember coming across some research that said that the filter would have to be changed as the biodiesel cleans the fuel tank from muck, that then ends up in the filter.... | |

| I changed the filter this morning and went for a drive. All fixed The filter was more or less clean but there was like a blackish-brown sediment that I suspect was slowly getting dissolved into chunks. I know this cause it came off in my hands. Everything is back to normal. I even put the air filter back in so it sounds stock. However, without the air filter it was more responsive and faster | |
