hi there!
my names Chris. im a young precision engineer in north wales UK my forte being welding. my daily driver is a 1995 5 door ae101 1.3 xli (4efe)

now i must admit im not actually a born and bred corolla fan, nor a jap fan. but hey ho, this car has an interesting story anyway.
my actual interest in my spare time for those who are interested is classic minis. but, more specifically... making them really really fast.
here is my 1989 red hot that im currently sticking a c16xe vauxhall engine into (cam's, ITB's etc)

and heres one i made earlier...
its a 1972 mini pickup, with a nissan cg13a engine on cbr600 carbs and megajolt ignition. it runs 153bhp at the front wheels.

now. the corolla... i drove my red mini every day with a standard (officer) a series engine until i got a little too excited and ploughed it through a hedge. wrecking alot of it but the cage saved the most part. this is why im now sticking the vauxhall engine in there.
so... carless for a short while, one of my dads mates phones me up. hes inherited a house... theres this shabby blue corolla on the driveway.
"it looks pretty knackered but your welcome to have it and sort it out, its otherwise going to be scrapped"
not one to turn down free stuff, i go straight round.
the car does look sorry for itself... but i towed it home anyway.
after a good inspection, a wash, tyre pumping etc... i thought "theres nothing actually wrong with this car!"
i must say at this point. the car was 17 years old, had only done 36000 miles and had been serviced each year by toyota (i have the paperwork)
having been sat dormant for 2 years without an mot it started straight away first turn. so i took it for a test to see what the deal was...
came back to the testing station asking "so whats it failed on?" "sod all! best and cleanest corolla of this age ive ever seen... no advisories no nothing!"
SCORE! and it was a free car...
anyway, rambling out the way ive decided its now time to do some playing with the corolla.
picked me up some other wheels (cheap) they wont be staying red.

ill keep you all updated. as ill be making some funky stuff for this car at work.
toodles for now!
Chris
