| Hey guys need some help figuring out whats wring with car, was driving on some hills and the car started loosing power and struggled abit, now when it reaches 10psi boost I can hear clicking/rattling sound....sounds similar to something being put into a fan, the car feels flat and just doesnt have its normal power. Ive pulled off the intake and checked inside the turbo for any play/movement and that feels fine. Any ideas and advice would be greatly apreciated :-) | |

| Hmmm. Air/Fuel would be the only thing I'd guess off the top of my head. I've always found gull 98 to run way better than other fuels for some reason. | |

| Keep the wastegate shut?! Doesn't that mean you'll be running open boost? That can't be a good thing... | |

| Keeping the wastegate open is bad.
No way of controlling boost pressure. If its open, i would hazard a guess that the noise you have is due to bottom end failure, turbo may have over boosted. Happened on my subaru when the wastegate jammed

| external wastegate is better.. but what adjustments have they made to it, if any?
and with running external, the internal wastegate may open up earlier (if not shut properly) which prevents the boost pressure getting to where it supposed to..
checked all your boost pipes for leaks?
checked exhaust manifold for cracks?

| unsure what if anything has been done to the wastegate... I will try and check the internal one to see if what they did to shut it has failed
how do I check the boost pipes for leaks? (sorry very noob mechanically)
Ive got heatwrap on the exhaust manifold but its falling apart so I take it apart and check for cracks, thinking it might be better to have them coated rather than heatwrap
