Speed limiter

Has anyone ever removed the speed limiter? I'm curious if there is a simple DIY way to do so on a 4afe with a stock ECU

speed limiter? at 120km? i didnt think the usdm ones had the limiter fitted. or do you mean rev limiter?

There is some type of limiter because in 5th gear it cuts out at around 115mph, however I'm able to reach that speed in 4th gear and hit the limiter too so I believe that it would accelerate longer in 5th if it was for the limiter.

you can get a HKS SLD, it takes the limiter off

I've wound the clock out before, the only kind of speed limiter I hit was the fact that the car was doing 200km/h and redlining (not on the rev limiter though). Guess Australian-made ones didn't come with a speed limiter then

haha, not hard to find..

its mainly comes off JDM cars that are limited to 112mph

Was looking at what cars it's compatible in, I see AE101 but no 4afe, only the 4age

the wiring should be similar, most toyotas are

I would hope so but knowing my luck, and my ability, it probably won't be simple. My car isn't even prewired for a tach lol

I'm thinking about just making a switch that can deactivate the VSS or turn it back on
