| akuma64 -> k, ill ask around. looks awesome on the pic miib14 posted. the tacoma hood does look awfully similar, hehe. just remember to make an airbox of sorts for the scoop, otherwise it will just cause turbulence in your engine bay. i made an introduction thread in the welcome section of the forums? ill post more pics once i visit the car.
miib14 -> theyre still around, the carbon hoods are on an order basis. it should equal about the same, but ill get specific prices for you.
BRIDGY -> hehe! let me know, not alot of these where made. these were only available in the philippines, it came with a corolla you can buy from the dealership called TRD stage1. had this gauge cluster, 2 point strut bar, short shifter and carbon dash overlay. i was told a total of 40 cars were made.

| it only came out in the philippines thats why it not well known, we also had the TRD corolla cup cars. basically stripped down corollas with trd rollcage, suspension and minor engine mods. they where all white, wonder if any are still left.
tom's even came out with 2 versions of the corollas from the dealerships, the 7th gen was basically just a bodykit and the typical strut brace mods. the 8th gen was sold as a complete car, turbo 7afe that was later on adapted to the corolla sportivos of Australia. good old days!

| wow! and akuma, you can also get the scoop off of an older rav4 or 4runner. youd probably find one of those before you found a tacoma

| just keep in mind akuma the runner length, everyone i know makes power tuned on longer runners. the 20v's love to be rich in the bottom half of the map but at the same time want to be lean on the top half because of the shrouding. goodluck! | |

| and uea thanks tyler! so by runner lenght you mean the length of the scoop? how long it is? il prob just get a spare hood off a junk corolla and get the scoop of a 4 runner or something. should be cheap and easy. | |

| akuma64 -> theres still more to be learned, ive just been playing with the same car for so long. hehe. being unknown does have its strengths, i always loved it when you streetrace (i dont do this anymore, sorry. bad thing to do) someone or you overtake them on track with a 4door sedan. the look on their faces is priceless, hoping to do even more damage next time! id love to go to toyotafest but sadly work gets in the way.
what i mean by the runner length is the velocity stack or trumpets, its the reason why they work well and sometimes do not work. the opening of the bt tb is 50mm, but the actual tb is only 45 or 44 (please correct me if im wrong). you need the use velocity stacks that have the same growth per length, also it needs to be as long as the stock pieces (100mm if i remember). ill search for the old velocity stacks that was recommended to me by tedcomponents, as they did tests and found anything shorter than the factory length you loose power and no gains were made if the inner diameter doesnt follow the tb growth specs. most of the time people regard the bt's aggressive intake sound as a gain in power, but you'd be surprised in an engine as the bt that most of the time running an open airbox will not gain any power or loose in some instances. the ecu goes haywire and feeds too much fuel, running AT ecu's back then cured this.
another thing to look at is filtration, running socks on velocity stacks is the worst thing you can do. as this defeats the purpose of the tumble effect. you need atleast a 2 inch room around the mouth of the opening so it wont interfere with air velocity. i was running an itg filter designed for webber carbs before, had to weld the baseplate halfway unto the stacks.
i recommend doing back to back tests with the stock airbox and an open velocity stack setup on the dyno, youll be surprised by the results. sorry to ramble...
ILL ALSO HAVE A COMPLETE BZTOURING CONVERSION FOR SALE SOON...
complete including tailgate and lower rear valance

| na man! its awesome to know! so basically youd suggest using trumpets that are the same length as the stock trumpets right? what about longer? | |

GE exhaust manifolds do not fit FE heads. You can make a 20V GE manifold fit a 16V GE head with minor modifications, but not FE
