| Hi, my name is Antti, and I live in Kittilä, Finland, about 160 km north of the Arctic Circle. My daily driver is a 1993 1.6 XLi Corolla hatchback named Taneli (the Finnish name for Daniel, one of my friends gave it that name for some reason. I think it might have a soul.) I joined this forum, because there might be someone to know some answers to my problems. I've tried to keep it rather OEM-style, only small detailing. I'll probably make a some sort of showcase-topic of it. The next bigger job will be caring the outside with some Autoglym-products and changing filters and essential fluids. | |

| Thanks.
Well, the first and the more major problem is a squeaking noise that comes from the engine, right after the starting. It takes about 5-30 seconds, and then the noise disappears. It might also make the noise during heavy load to engine, such as a start from an uphill. I wonder what's wrong?
Second question. How many lightbulbs are there behind the coolingtemp- speedo- and petrol level-meters? And what type are they? I'm plannning to order some LED from an online store, so I know how many to order.
Any hekp appreciated, thanks forehand! | |

| 1. the squeaking sound could be the alternator belt, it may need replacing. 2. there are 2 types of bulbs behind the cluster, 1 is a 501 bulb the other is a 286 bulb. off the top of my head there are 5 x 501 bulbs and around 10 x 286 bulbs. could be more than that | |

| The squeaking could be any of your belts, but probably the alternator belt like Ishaq said. I know being in Canada I got the occasional squeak from mine in the winter, it got progressively worse one winter and I had to change it. Your car looks excellent! | |

| Yeap, probably it is the alternator belt since now it is warm up here, and it has stopped squeaking. Mostly. I'll have a look on it. | |
