| Hey there, the names Colin aka "weazler/weaz" I bought my 4th Corolla on 02/20/14. I hopped a flight to D.C. and drove it 427 Miles to my home in Columbus, OH. I absolutely love this car. Up until this point, everything I have done to this rolla is aesthetic, no real mechanical work. I had rebuilt my last one from the ground up, but it got hit, and bent the frame. But either way, to the point. this is my corolla project from purchase till now, and much more fun stuff coming down the road. When I bought it, this is what I got. Base model, stripped down, no extras, clean slate. AND I MEAN CLEAN!!! So then I started adding to it, making it better. I wanted to make it my own as soon as possible. and so it began.... Cluster w/ tach, and digital clock came first. Then the spoiler, and the facelift tail conversion So then, I saw the inside of a late 90's Lexus LS400, two toned brown and tan. And I thought to myself "this is pretty sweet!! Why cant my corolla have a cool two tone like this?" after a second, I realized that there was the tan interior, and I could make it myself. I got all my interior parts from junkyards. They needed some serious cleaning, some may be replaced later. I did it in two stages, plastics, then doors. But I'm just going to show what it looks like now. I added the trunk light and strut tower brace in the front. (not shown) Then some "nightshades" on the front end, and partially de-badging the rear. And some 17" wheels ^^This is as it sits today^^ I've got some bigger plans for it, more interior, lighting and such, add tilt wheel, a motor swap or 2, suspension, drivetrain, steering, MOAR LOW!!! | |

| Thanks Miib, I appreciate it. I worked pretty hard on it, so that's always nice to hear.
And gold, My seats? these are the base model seats that came in it. hardly leather, just vinyl on the sides. I had the same ones in my last corolla. which was a dx, but had absolutely no options.... | |

| I did manage to hookup a subwoofer and amp I had laying around. It sounds alright. Definitely better than the audiobahn I had in my 93. Still need to do my indoors. But about a week ago, I had a guy in an Altima stop REALLY short of a red light. I kissed it. So upset when it happened. I knew the front and rear bumpers were aftermarket replacements that had been painted to match (they did a great job on the color match) idk if it was a previous owner or the dealer I got it from, but THEY DIDNT SAND BEFORE PAINTING!!!! GAH!!!! Because of this, instead of spidered clear coat. I got a big black abomination on my front bumper. I did manage to realign my lights and grille just an ugly black spot under them now But I will need to do some bending to the metal bumper bracket, as its bent. And I also managed to break the fiberglass bar behind the bumper. (pics not very clear but you can see the damage) It was just a kiss. Luckily the bumper and its parts did exactly as they were supposed to. No frame damage, just a few minor bends. I was hoping to wait for paint till my motor was done, and now im torn. My car is not as beautiful now. | |

| Also, little side project of mine. Since I have LOTS of extra parts laying around. I've decided to try something out. I've seen various stages of polishing/painting of the valve cover and plenum cover. I am going to attempt using polish and paint. Since they both require sanding, that's where I started. I've been working on this little by little for maybe 3 weeks now, wire brushing, 220/320 grit sanding. Today I went at it with 500grit and this is what I got. | |

| As I mentioned before, I have LOTS of extra parts for the 4a/7a. When I first tore down the 4afe that came out of my last corolla, I had pained a bunch of parts and pieces. So, when I realized that my valve cover gasket was brittle as hell, I saw an opening and took it. I now have a good bit of black painted parts on my engine bay. I think It looks pretty cool (though I need some clean bolts for painted parts). But I really need to invest some time and money into the mechanics of this car before it gets too bad. Next to be done is the intake manifold cover, fuel rail, alt cover, and I'm going to paint the washer fluid reservoir black. (thought about doing coolant reservoir as well, but haven't decided yet) | |
