| Long time no see. My green DX failed the etest again. Its burning oil like a pig. But its been running better n smoother since i started changing my own oil (Castrol gtx w. Mobil 1 filter). So...I went and got myself another one, a 1997 SD model wirh same 1.6 4afe auto (well almost same, theres a few differences ive noticed.
Anywho, ive got a poop load of work to get the Sd saftied. Needs a new fuel filler neck (already ordered), rear struts (already have them), brakes bled and possibly new lines, also need a passenger door as the lock mechanism is #u@*ed lol. Also need extensive body work (rust on all doors). But other than that, it looks fairly decent shape. Has better heat and working ac then my Dx. Im using my phone so it takes too long to share pics but ill have some up soon. Cant really do much till i replace the filler neck. Its leaking bad. Hopefully i dont have ro replace the tank. Ive got the filler neck currently wrapped in metal tape for a temporary fix. I also found a helpful youtube vid on how to replace the filler neck. Thank you who ever that was. Ill try to take pics and share them when i can.

| My plan is to make the SD my new daily driver and keep the DX for a future project. | |

| Man those northern roads kill the underside of a car. Looking forward to seeing the progress! | |

| Yea.. I really wish they would ban the use of road salt. Bad for the environment and even worse too cars lol. Plus theres so many holes and cracks.
Probably a stupid question but would it be safe to start my car with the filler neck leaking? Its not leaking anymore. I jacked the car up so it went into the tank (wasnt able to get much of a slope but i think most went in) and the rest i soaked up with rag plus evaporation. Anyway. To the point. I just wanna start my car so i can finish flushing the coolant system. I guess i had it running before with it possibly leaking. Im scared, im jus gonna tape the shit out of it with metal tape just to be cautious. What do you think? I wish my filler neck was here now lol

| There's really no wiring to worry about there so you should be safe | |

| Well im still alive lol. And i so regret buying another rolla, atleast this specific one. After all my tempory taping repairs, i got my new filler neck today lol. So could of just waited. So today i tried installing it, but i cant even get the darn wheels off to give me room. They are super corroded to the brake drum and bearing hub/cap/center part. The wheel lugs came off nice n smoothly but the wheel is seized. I beat the shite out of it with a sledge hammer to the point where any harder would knock the car off the jack and stands lol. Think i bent the rim on the inside lol.
Just sprayed it hard with some PB Blaster and ill try again tomorrow.

| And does anyone know if the fuel tanks are interchangeable between 93-97 models? Or would a 98-02 tank fit? I dont like the look of the rust on the top plus can see some rusty lines.
Good thing i still have my genuine OEM Toyota fuel filter i never installed on my green DX. I think the SD deserves it a little more lol.

| AH man bro, I remember those days with the Corolla. I had almost forgotten. It was a sweet dream when the "new" IS300 came apart easily and perfectly. | |

| Quick Update: Got my used rear struts in with new rear sway bar links. Finished my body work and touch up painting (in like 5 degree Celsius whether in a dusty old garage lol). Plus changed the interior gear selector bulb to an LED (original was burnt out) and thouroughly cleaned the interior. Plus kind of fixed my windshield gasket with windhsield adhesive but it must of been too cold cuz it didnt sit properly but its better than before. Now I just need the brakes fixed and an exhaust welded in which Im taking it somewhere to have done because its too cold lol. Ill go take some pics | |

| Thanks. I took pics but its taking too long to upload lol. Plus the shop I was going to go to wont install an aftermarket part (even though its an OEM part) so have to go somewhere else.
