| This was the day my mechanic friend hauled it to his house, the fuel pump was bad. This is what it looked like the first day I had it. Here is my interior, for some reason it has CE, DX, and LE interior. It needed a new passenger fender, front bumper, grill headlights, new interior accessories. Yesterday, a buddy and I went to the U-pull to get a DX trunk plate and DX lettering trim to make the back read "LEDX". The DX will go on soon. I'll keep this post updated! | |

| Oh yeah not to mention that I need a completely new door for the passenger side.

| Nice corolla. Are you the one that painted the trunk plastic garnish black? | |

| It's a DX plate. That's it's original color. I just spray painted it to get the original vibe. Prior to the DX plate was the LE plate seen in a few of the other pictures. | |

| I found the exact same DX garnish here in Kenya a few days ago but i was abit apprehensive about the possibility of spray painting it. Does the black paint stick on it as good as on a metal surface?

| Well it depends. If the surface is not worn AT ALL, then it probably won't stick too well. Mine has very worn and faded from the sun. So the paint stuck very well. Mine has been through a few thunderstorms since I sprayed it. It's still holding up pretty well. | |

| Update: Got my tires changed today. The guy that tests the cars drivability gashed up my back bumper.
[I'll post pictures after I get everything sorted out with the store manager]
I'm pretty mad about that, but I'm even more mad because he was grinding my car's gears when he put it from reverse to drive, two times in a row.

| Btw I cant believe you only paid $500 for you're car. That's pretty damn cheap in my book. | |

| Same here, man! It only needed $80 put into it to run. Then the brakes were $25 and new tires $145. So in all reality, it was only a $800 car. I came out very cheap! My transmission is starting to go out though, so I'll have to get it rebuilt. The engine runs like it only has 100,000 miles on it. Which is funny because it has 239,000 miles.
The engine is oddly in very good shape even though it was put through hell with it's previous owners. It doesn't burn oil at all. I can hit 60 in no time; even with the bad transmission (I know because I pulled out in front of a transfer truck and had to slam the gas to not die). The car is a mystery... How I got so lucky, I do not know.

| With no progress to my car at all, because of money problems and a speeding ticket, I have a question.
I recently bought a trunk rack from the scrapyard for $10. It's rusty, you know the whole sha-bang. I was wondering if you guys think I should stop the rust and put a clear coat on it to keep the rust for a rat look? or should I sand it down and spray it black? Thoughts?? I'd like some ideas from you guys along with what I'm gonna do in photoshop to see what it looks like both ways.

| Welcome, nice deal. Personally I'm not into the rat rod look. Those LE center garnishes are hard to find. You could have sold it for probably $50 on ebay. Also I wouldn't waste the money to get the trans rebuilt. Just go to a junk yard and get a good used. It will be a lot cheaper. | |

| Well, I have to buy a brand new trans. I have a 1.8ltr engine w/4speed. Not something you can easily find in a junkyard. Plus I want something in a little better shape than a scrapped car trans. Also, I've been debating a new corolla or a new paint job. I want a ratty corolla and a clean corolla. sucks being broke though | |

| 1. Well heres what happened after this thread. Driver fender and hood from a 97 charcoal corolla. 2. Basically a better picture of it. 3. I painted my steelies white because I thought it looked nicer. 4. I manga bombed my fender, I did it wrong so it only lasted 2 days lol. 5. Finally got around to adding the luggage rack! 6. Bought some higher quality BBS knock-offs lol https://www.instagram.com/p/BN2gEkZBo3M/ 7. installed coils, got it aligned, heres the guys at the tire shop struggling lmao 8. Bought the AUSDM Holden Nova garnish. 9. Removed the rear bumper, just for fun. Now here comes some actual progress.... It hit 261,000 miles, and I removed the mildew carpet from the last owners disgusting lifestyle. Here is the Silvertop (blacktop valve cover) I'm buying..... I guess you could say me and my friend are doing a 7AGE 20v build. I'll post progress of the engine build when we actually start the build. | |

| Thanks, it took so long because for a year I was stuck at a job making $70 a week. I just got another job 6 months ago making that same $70 in 4 hours. So I've been getting a ton of stuff done this past six months. All the random dumb stuff I wanted, I afforded when I was broke. Im gonna swap a manual trans into it when I get my 7age built. I'm also getting a second corolla, hopefully I can get a hold of a cheap wagon. | |
