| I have some coilover sleeves that I can ship you ... I never used them, but they are like adjustable lowering springs, so you can set your own height. I will beat any price for you. | |

| Shipping will be OK because they are in a small Priority Mailing box, which means one flat fee no matter what! It's a good deal actually. But I am feeling generous lately, I want to get rid of all my stuff ASAP. I'll talk about it more in the PM.
You should definitely upgrade your shocks while you are at it... no matter what springs you use to lower it, you'll need performance shocks to handle it. I don't have any though lol.
I never did use the adjustable springs... they look exactly like my coilovers, just without the shock. They should slip right over, and you can see the locking nuts to adjust the height. Installation should be a breeze, as easy as any spring. I was actually kinda afraid to install them honestly, I didn't have a CLUE what I was doing. But now that I've gone ahead with the coilover install on the IS300, these are really easy in retrospect, and I'll always be here to help out across the pond.

| You don't need any special tools that are different than just installing normal springs, the procedure is the same.
Gelovash, these are not full coilovers, but just the adjustable spring part. I am unsure the brand, I got them from an Ebay auction. Installing these is just like regular springs. The only real difference is that you can set your own height.

looks a lot of work to me but then im no mechanic Actually, that's very different. He took off the entire brake assembly, but on our car, the strut unbolts from the hub (the strut is the silver part, you can see the bolts). And you don't have to do cutting and welding like that guy did. You will leave the shock alone, and the coilover sleeve will rest on the hat thing like the stock spring. - gelovash wrote:

Yes, exactly like lowering springs, only adjustable height.

| Here is a rather straight-foward DIY on a very similar strut.
http://www.robietherobot.com/storm/coilover_installation.htm
I do believe you have to hammer off the one ring as shown, I remember something like that. But only on some spring/shock combos. And again, it's just a hammer.
The only special tool you need is a spring compressor, which (in the USA) you can rent for free from any auto part store (free as long as you return it).

| it shouldn't be a hard fit. it will more or less be the same difficulty as putting lowering springs, like chris said, upgrade your shocks at same time | |

| IMO, it sounds like you are not ready to do the suspension install yourself. You'll definitely need a good sprocket set with a few 17mm and 19mm fittings, with a good torque/breaker bar to loosen the bolts. It would be a lot easier if you had help from someone who's worked on suspension before.
Once you are comfortable with suspension in general, springs or sleeves is the same for installation (and it's the ideal time to change the shocks). Or, you could just skip all that and blow $800 on coilovers!

| Tell you what.... how about you just replace the one shock? That would be a MUCH smaller project, and doing so would give you 100% of the experience you need to lower your car.
However, it probably makes the most sense to replace all 4 shocks at the same time.... but one is a good start!

| Replace all four to make the car even or at the very least do the pair ie both fronts or rears. I'll pull one of mine off for you today and take pics to help you if you'd like.
