| Base octane.... depends on what is available in your area. The lowest is fine. | |

| personally i'd say 95 and above wil be good for the engine. | |

Octane rating in the US (AKI) is different to most of the world (RON). 95 RON is equivalent to ~91 AKI in the US, aka "premium/super" | |

They will run on 91RON but it's not that good for them (pinging), the higher the octane the better, they make a bigger cleaner bang in the combustion camber. Although in saying that you can tune the car to run on lower octane. Jap imports here should be run on at least 98RON because in Japan the use 100RON. If you can get some av gas put it in and see how it goes, your car will love it.  | |

| Based on compression ratio ALONE I wouldn't run a 20V on regular (91RON) unless it was absolutely necessary - the engine may run fine at low loads/revs etc, but give it the beans and you're just asking for detonation. Premium (95 RON) is a minimum and I usually run both my cars on 98 RON due to the price being not much more than 95 (the Soarer has to run on 98 though as that is what the PowerFC is tuned for). | |

| I live in NZ and I have always run my 1991 silvertop levin on 95 but I do notice it likes 98. If thats any help  | |
