. What was the performance like with the 4E-FE engine? Were you able to compare it to the 4A-FE? It's kinda funny because the 4E-FE uses more gas than the 4A-FE, despite being a lower displacement. Guess it's because it has to work harder to get going Laughing

performance was quite good for a 1.3.. was quick was what it was compared to other 1.3 and 1.4

it did give a 4afe (Carina E) a good run for its money on a number of occasions... Twisted Evil

4E-FTE is much better, but sometimes i miss the 4efe... it was a whole load of fun...

so do you reckon the earlier box intake mani or the later smoother and slightly larger in take mani is better on them ishaq?I personally think my facelift 3door was faster than the 5door daily, even though the exhaust mani was CAT with its 4-1 but the intake is better designed for airflow IMO...want to get a second opinion as i have the facelift mani lying at home...tempted to dremel it out a bit too lol Very Happy

i say earlier one (like the pic in the first post) with a turbo TB woulld be awesome, i had that setup and it made a big difference. and change the exhaust mani to the 4-2-1 aswell...

no not the "gen 2" inlet you posted in the other thread, its a gen3 mani as such going by your threads lol.i think someone told me before its forged but I'd say its more of a cast mani than anything...pic:

my corolla was running a 4efe (1.3 1995) great little engine, loads of fun to drive. It has a broken piston ring which basically made my mind up for me to start the conversion, but when it comes out, i plan to strip it down, split the block and get it running again!! Wink
