@Shehroze, indeed I try to look at it that way, but it's really gonna suck after like the first week hahah. But money is good right? I put like $20-30 in for gas every second day I was driving it so much Probably gonna be like that for two weeks once I get it back...
@Kenny, he can call me fat, for now hopefully this month does me good haha, went for a decent 25ish km bike today alone.
And Chris, you don't look fat in the pictures I've seen of you haha.

Hahah I know you weren't calling me fat Shehroze :3 It did make me think about how much money I will save lols thank you, now that this is all settled...
Does anybody have a preference to exhaust and muffler brands? I've always thought Megan Racing was good for the price, and although a lot of their st00f can sound somewhat loud/ricey, they do have universal N1 style mufflers with silencers, most their universal mufflers can be bought from $80-120 online.
There is also a catback Magnaflow exhaust, but online cheapest I've found is like $539 which I don't really wanna go with cause I and some friends haven't had very good experiences with them.
There is an HKS axle back ($300?) and they also have universal mufflers (around $150-250), and an Apexi axle back ($240ish) and also have universal mufflers ($100-300). There's also a Greddy TiC axle back ($280) and 5zigen bolt on replacement muffler ($100-150).
Want something aggressive but not overly ricey, not droney and quief like, but smooth and not overly loud haha.
:O so many choices hahah.

Sounds like you want an axleback, muffler section only.
IMO, your car will sound the same with any muffler, it will sound like a 4 banger no matter what. So your best bet is to leave it quiet, or it will be like any riced out Civic.
Replace just the muffler, and you'll get the tone, but it will be quiet enough.
Replace the resonator, and that sound gets louder (too loud IMO) and maybe bassier (more drony)
Replace the cat, and you'll definitely increase the noise, but also you'll get raspy sounds.
Replace the headers, and you'll get raspy sounds and a more metallic sound.
You can imagine how much I regretted replacing ALL these parts lol. I learned my lesson, and now I'm just got a muffler on the IS300.
It's the engine that determines the muffler sound, not the muffler that determines the engine sound. The engine is what makes the sound in the first place. Just like all V8s sound similar, all Subarus sound similar, all 4 banger economy engines will sound similar.
Of course, the intake can help, it adds wooshing noise to the front, which is cool.

Well it already has 2.25" piping, at least I think it does, any who I'm not planning on turboing it, yet so I just want a muffler for now, I like the tone a nice (not ricey) muffler gives cars, even if it's just a 4pot.
With just the intake on my Corolla the engine sounded really meaty but the back sounded like a quieffff, I wish I still had a video of the noise hahah.
Anddd yes I can imagine how much you regretted the noise hahah, it was a Corolla after all, but it did look cool at least the exhaust and everything. I'll see if I can't get a video of the Lancers start up currently, it's actually fairly aggressive sounding, but I guess I'm used to the Rolla, so it's not as loud as I want it in my mind.
And yes, intake of course haha, planning on an AEM CAI, apparently any generic eBay intake will throw up codes, so I'm gonna hafta spend a bit more

I agree with Chris, don't go full piping. I wish I kept mine stock with just an after market muffler. I'm thinking about installing two resonators on mine just to keep it even more quiet. I don't mind the noise but I get really self conscious when I have passengers.
Just don't spend big money on brand-named mufflers. I promise you a $50 ebay muffler would sound the same as some overpriced brand named tin can.

@Kenny, yeah if it's just the muffler I'm not gonna shell out tonnes of money for the brand name, probably just gonna go with a Megan Racing one, I like the company too so why not.
@Ishaq, definitely went on a 2 hour adventure of the google machine today looking up exhaust videos

Yeah that's what I'm saying.... ANY muffler on your car (all other things the same) will sound nearly the same.

lol Chris is just stereo typing. I've heard some really nice Civics before but I'm sure they had some high performance motors in them. The problem with the Civic crowd is that they typically run with no resonators and cats. The louder it is, the faster it is, right?

I did not say ALL Civics... only the riced-out Civics. This is not a stereotype, but the group of people with loud Civics that fit my description. lol.

Well I can appreciate any car, Civic or not. Arguments over which car is better is just pointless.
Only thing I dislike is when someone in a straight pipe buzzes by my house one too many times at 1 in the morning. Especially those Harley Davidsons!
lol I think I'm gonna stop before we steer Aaron's thread off topic. Sorry Aaron!

It's all good, these threads are for conversations, no?
I hate it too, because about 40% of my town are retired folk, or soon to be, so they're spending all their retirement money and pensions and stuff on whatever they didn't have before, so there's always Harley's and obnoxious Corvette's, Chargers and Stangs' cruising around from March till about October, and I live just off a highway, it can be annoying sometimes.

It's all Chrises fault
But reverting to the earlier conversation, I don't think Civic and Corolla owners exactly hate eachother (unless it's a douchey Civic ricer), but it's more of a competition to out do one another. Civics have this huge aftermarket base as they're good tuners, but Corollas, when done right, can be good competition.

^^^ exactly, I don't hate anyone, but jealous Corolla owners might hate on how easy it is to get attention in a Civic...

I was answering his question (in great detail and experience I might add ) when you wanted to talk about your civic:

I like all cars when done properly. Here's a video that I "liked" (since you want to talk about Civics )
